On 13 and 14 December 2023, a qualification course on "Using training videos to train staff through group work" (TOT training for trainers) was implemented. The aim was to use and integrate a new approach (training videos) in the educational process, as well as to acquire knowledge and practical pedagogical methods for working with groups and managing group processes.
Participants from Riga Central Prison, Ilguciems Prison, Olaine Prison, Jelgava Prison, Daugavgriva Prison, Liepaja Prison, Valmiera Prison and Cesis Juvenile Detention Institution took part in the training.
The training was conducted by Ole Stageberg and Frank Tveiten Johansen from the Norwegian Academy of Correctional Services.
Training was held within the framework of the project “Establishment of Training centre infrastructure and model prison blocks for training opportunities in the Olaine prison territory” of the Norwegian financial instrument programme “Correctional Services”.
